Head of the Sino-German Center at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. For the Frankfurt School, he established the Shanghai International Banking and Finance Institute (SIBFI) as Vice President from 2003 to 2009 and was its Chairman of the Supervisory Board until 2012; since then he has been a member of the Supervisory Board. From 2009 to 2011, he was Director of the Centre of Banking and Finance at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, China, and Honorary Professor of Economics until 2020.
Head of the Frankfurt Institute for Private Equity and M&A at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Since 2019 he is one of the two presidents of the "Frankfurt Institute for Risk Management and Regulation" (FIRM) and member of the board of the "Gesellschaft für Risikomanagement und Regulierung e. V.". He is one of the founders of FinGeo - The Global Network on Financial Geography. From 2009 to 2020 he was Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Frankfurt School.
He has graduated from a joint Master of Science degree in Global Supply Chain Management from Kühne Logistics University, the University of Tennessee and Tongji University and holds a Bachelor‘s degree in General Management from Kühne Logistics University. He worked at Accenture Strategy, Deloitte S&O and in Finance Operations at FreeNow.
Willy graduated from the Technical University of Munich with a MSc degree in Management with Technology, where he also spent a semester at Peking University. With a background in corporate development his research on the project focuses on the interaction between state and private actors in the Chinese VC industry.
He has many years of agency experience in media and web design and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt. In addition to the conception, design and realization of diverse projects in the media sector, his passion includes film and music production as well as everything connected with modern technology.
