China ranked 19th in the “Average Software Engineering Salaries by Country in 2022” report
CodeSubmit, an intelligent recruitment platform for tech talents, released the “Average Software Engineering Salaries by Country in 2022” report, and China ranked 19th with an average annual salary of $23,790.
The report compared data from over a dozen countries, such as the United States, European Union, and India, where software engineering is growing and thriving.
The top 5 countries with the highest average salary in the CodeSubmit research are:

Citing PageGroup, CodeSummit’s research said that the countries with the highest demand for software developers are Canada, Australia, Russia, Sweden and New Zealand. Salaries also tend to be higher due to a shortage of developers.
