RoboSense, a top provider of Smart LiDAR Sensor Systems, has partnered with Toyota, the world’s best-selling car manufacturer, on large-scale production for multiple models. The Chinese-based company will supply its RS-LiDAR-M series LiDAR to equip Toyota vehicles with accurate perception capabilities and enhance the driving safety of its intelligent models.

This new partnership will further promote the series production and widespread use of LiDAR technology in the automotive industry, according to RoboSense. The M-series, a second-generation smart solid-state LiDAR, is the only product of its kind to achieve automotive-grade series production, said the company. It uses a chip-based 2D scanning solution that boasts superior performance and reliability.

RoboSense’s M-series has already received nominated orders for over 50 models from nearly 20 car companies, including Toyota, with a projected order volume of more than 10 million units. Other partners include Geely’s Zeekr, DeepRoute.AI, BYD, AION, Dongfeng Motor Group, etc.

The M-series has been exhibited at the CES 2023 in December last year, along with the RS-LiDAR-E1, the first solid-state flash LiDAR that RoboSense has publicly launched, which will be mass-produced in the second half of 2023.
